Found a tool in the attic. It says "Leytool". Don't know how old it is, but I like the shape of it.

Restarting XS 500 project

Took some time to get started.....

Get some parts from the internet.

Strip the frame.

Lazy bastard

Due to weather conditions, work stalled on my projects the last couple of weeks.
Sounds like an excuse, I know. Fact is, that I don't have a heating in my shed, so it is impossible to paint (too cold) or work in the shed for a longer period of time (again: too cold).
But I managed to strip the frame of the XS and remove all the unnecessary tabs and mounts. During the process of grinding and cutting, I made some friends in the neighborhood (not really).
The quality of the welds is disappointing and I'm wondering if this frame is original, or someone else has mutilated it before I did..

Fat tyres

New tyres for the XS 500.
Well, now I see them on the rims, I wonder "What was I thinking!". These tyres can never handle well, compared to BT45's or Heidenau's.
Maybe the looks compensate for the handling??
